Heating work we take on

Systems of every size, ask if yours isn't listed

Full system design & installation

New heating systems planned around the property, boiler, radiators, cylinder, pipework and controls, sized and balanced properly.

Gas & oil boiler replacement

Efficient, award-winning boilers matched to the system. Grant G1 accredited for oil, Viessmann trained for gas.

Controls & zoning

Honeywell controls fitted as standard for reliability, room stats, zone valves and programmers that make sense to use.

Upgrades to existing systems

New radiators, cylinder swaps, extending heating into extensions and conversions, without disturbing what already works.

Servicing & maintenance

Annual boiler and system servicing with the safety documentation to match, including oil appliances and range-cooker boilers.

Fault finding & repair

Extensive repair and fault-finding experience across major manufacturers, diagnosis first, parts second.

Sound familiar?

The problems that prompt most heating enquiries, and all of them are fixable.

Some rooms never get warm. Usually a balancing, sizing or circulation problem, not a reason to replace everything.

The boiler is old and parts are scarce. Honest advice on repair vs replace, with running-cost numbers, not scare tactics.

The system keeps losing pressure. Methodical leak-tracing before anything is condemned or replaced.

Nobody understands our system. Older and mixed-age Cornish systems are the day job here, and you'll get a wiring diagram when we're done.

We're extending and the heating needs to grow. Systems designed with headroom, planned alongside your builder's schedule.

How a project runs

The same careful sequence, whether it's one radiator or a whole system.

  1. Survey & measure

A proper visit, heat loss, pipe runs, fuel, flue and how you actually use the house.

  2. Design & written quote

A system designed to manufacturer approval, quoted in plain English with named components.

  3. Clean installation

Dust sheets, tidy pipework, daily clear-up, the house stays liveable throughout.

  4. Handover & documentation

Commissioning, controls walkthrough, wiring diagram, certificates and guarantee paperwork.

Recent heating project

Oil system replacement, Roseland farmhouse

A 1980s oil boiler and gravity hot water replaced with a Grant condensing boiler, new cylinder and Honeywell zoning, without re-plastering a single wall.

From beginning to end, the communication and service received by Phil has been outstanding.

Heating questions, answered

The things customers ask before booking. Anything else, just call.

Do you install and service oil-fired heating?

Yes. OFTEC registered and Grant G1 accredited. Oil remains the practical choice for many rural Cornish homes, and we install, service and repair oil boilers and oil-fired range cookers.

Which boiler brands do you fit?

The boiler is chosen to suit the system rather than the other way round. For oil we are Grant G1 accredited; for gas we are Viessmann trained. Honeywell controls are fitted as standard for reliability. If you have a preferred make, say so at the survey and we will tell you honestly whether it suits the property.

How long does a full system replacement take?

A straightforward boiler swap is usually the shorter job; a whole-house system replacement takes considerably longer, depending on the size of the property, the pipe runs and access. The survey establishes the schedule and the written quote states the working days, so you know before anything starts. The house stays liveable throughout.

Can the heating run from an Aga or Rayburn?

It can, and in Cornwall it often does. Phil is a Rayburn Guild authorised engineer, so the cooker, the heating and the hot water are all handled by the same person rather than split between trades. Range-cooker boilers are covered by the servicing work too.

Do you cover our village?

The workshop is in Playing Place, ten minutes from Truro. Day-to-day heating and plumbing work concentrates within about half an hour of base, which covers Truro, Falmouth, Penryn, the Roseland, St Agnes, Perranporth, Redruth, Newquay and St Austell. Aga, Rayburn and range cooker projects are taken on across the county.
